To understand my paintings
You must attempt to understand
The Indian way of vision:
You must understand
That a painting is only a symbol
Of something very powerful,
Something that happens inside you
That is influenced by voices or vision
In another world
The Indians know
This power as a medicine
It’s the voice
It’s the sight
And the strength
Of the spirit
And the soul
